Brandon Bass took over in the third quarter, outscoring the Sixers 18-16, of Game 5 and helped the Celtics win 101-85 Monday night at TD Garden. Bass’ playoff career- high 27 points lifted the C’s to a 3-2 series lead.

In games following losses in the 2012 playoffs, the Celtics are 3-0, and Paul Pierce averages 26 ppg. Now 4-0 after the 101-85 victory over the 76ers in Game 5.
